British Muni Weekend – November 2022 – Lake District

Buttermere BMW (British Muni Weekend)

Date: 19th /20th November 2022

BMW events are open to unicyclists of all age and skills. They are not formal events, but social events where you can meet up with other unicyclists and ride together.

Itinerary:

Friday 18th November

  • 18:30 hut open

Saturday 19st November

  • 8:00 Communal Breakfast
  • 8:30 Lunch (sandwiches and trail food) making
  • 10:00 carpool to Whinlatter trail centre Full day's ride (up to 25km) worked around the group, lunch will either be on the trail or at the visitor’s centre depending on which trails we ride
  • 16:30 back to the campsite for showers
  • 19:00 Communal food

Sunday 20th November

  • 8:00 Communal Breakfast 8:30 Lunch (sandwiches and trail food) making
  • 10:00 Tidy/clean trail centre and leave Full day's ride (up to 25km) worked around the group, lunch will either be on the trail or at the visitor’s centre depending on which trails we ride
  • 15:30 Home time

Accommodation:

Accommodation is in a comfortable Hut located near Buttermere (details supplied after registration). The accommodation is a private hut and you will be logged in a guest. Sleeping in dorms. There are beds, but you will need to bring your own sleeping bag.

Food:

Due to the success of group cooking at the last event and the availability of a well-equipped kitchen we will try and do the same here. We will include Breakfast and evening meals as well as sandwiches in the price of the weekend (although you will be expected to contribute to the cooking, making and tidying up). If you have any special dietary requirements or preferred food do email (food is generally vegan as it covers most people requirements).

Things you will need:

Mountain unicycles- 24”or larger, suitable for riding on trails Helmet/pads Backpack with water, tools, rain jacket and packed lunch Sleeping gear (if you are planning to stay at hut) Food for Friday evening (if you are there on Friday) About BMW: Good vibes- we welcome everyone to come ride with us regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion or age. If you have hate: leave it at home.

How to keep up to date:

***For the avoidance of doubt this is not an event per se, there is no fee to pay for the riding, no t-shirt and you are ultimately responsible for your own safety. We are going to lead these rides and you are welcome to join but it is up to you to judge what is safe for you to ride and what is within your ability. We aim to look out for each other and keep together as a group but you are responsible for yourself, your belongings and your wellbeing.
