One of the more eccentric sides of Penny Farthing riding is playing Polo on them. The Penny Farthing Club have even in front of the Queen. The game is based on Cycle Polo which in turn is also based on horse Polo.
The game is played on a grass pitch approximately 100x150m. The teams are made up of 5 a side and is played in 4 or 5 "chukars" of 7minutes. They use a small football and a mallet.
It should be a none contact sport, but there is often incidents and injuries. David Pit Fox had a little accident with his during the latest competition.
The Calcutta cup is a yearly competition between England and Scotland. This year it was held at the Cycle Revival Festival at Herne Hill.
