Description

The Kris Holm T-bar Universal Handle is designed to fit on to most saddle bases. The handle is supplied in kit form with various configuration options included. The handle can be fitted with either a straight or bend handle extension at a position to suit the rider’s style and preference.

Features:

Narrow profile to not interfere with legs while riding.
Adjustable up to 30cm (straight Muni bar) or 40cm (bent Road bar).
Handle bar width tailored to discipline 12cm for Muni, 15cm for Road.
Bar-Ends (adjustable in the angle, according to your preference and usage).
A brake lever can be positioned between the bar ends or along the handle shaft.
May be installed either with or without the original plastic saddle handle.
Supplied with reinforcement plate suitable for the KH Fusion, Qu-Ax Eleven or KH Fusion-One saddles.
Compatible with the Nimbus saddles but for the modern Nimbus and Impact saddles you are recommended to install with the Impact Saddle Reinforcement Plate (not supplied).
Compatible with the Nimbus Shadow T-handles (these are longer and stronger than the ones supplied in the kit).

I’ve been riding with these for years now, on and off road, and for me the flexibility around the length and the angle completely independent of your saddle position means it’s always the handle I recommend. I do think the lack of an additional stubby riser to mount your brake onto (facing down from the T) is a pretty glaring omission in what’s otherwise a very practical and versatile bar, but this is an easy enough addition to acquire from an old bike, your local bike shop, or here on UDC (the Nimbus Shadow Bar Ends are perfect to be cut down for this purpose). Mounting the brake lever to the central bar doesn’t put the brake in the correct position for access, or the correct angle for use, and it’s difficult to reach with either hand, no matter the position, even with an additional part like a starfighter. This encourages users to narrow the width of the bars in order to access the brake, when ergonomically this may be non-ideal for them. The rubber ends are a huge step up from the plastic capped metal ends of the old models (the old ones never survived very long following a few UPDs), and they also provide far more flexibility of the setup – some people mount them upside down, on the opposite sides to what’s pictured above, or even remove the bottom section to just have the “above bar” part. Personally I’d like to be able to purchase this bar with either the straight or the bent bar, as I’ve never known anyone to change them around – once you’ve decided what you like, you tend to stick to it. It’s a shame to buy a product and then have part of that product never be used. Great for those who don’t know what they want, but a bit of a waste for those of us who do. Breaking the saddle mounting section is a known issue with these bars under super hard use (typically off-road), but no other options are any better in their durability. You can buy aftermarket steel replacement mounts if this failure occurs for you. Personally I’ve never had an issue.
