Historic Cycle Racing at Hillingdon – This Sunday, 21st September
Step Back in Time – and Race into the Future!
This Sunday, 21st September 2025, the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit will host a unique celebration of cycling history and spectacle, bringing together some of the most iconic and unusual machines on two wheels — and one!
Organised by the Pickwick Bicycle Club (the oldest cycling club in the UK), the day promises fast racing, historic bicycles, and plenty for spectators to enjoy.

Among the highlights:

British National Unicycle Road Race
After several years away, the national unicycle road race returns to Hillingdon! Riders will take on the 1-mile track in two races:-
24” wheel and under – 11:30

Unlimited wheel size – 12:30
Open to all unicyclists, this is a thrilling showcase of balance and speed.

The Grand Old Ordinary Race
Watch history in motion as original 19th-century Penny Farthings take to the track for the 1-mile Grand Old Ordinary Trophy Race. A rare opportunity to see these legendary machines raced as they once were – 14:00 -
British Penny Farthing Championships 2025
The main event! The fastest modern Penny Farthing riders will battle it out for the national title, racing wheel-to-wheel in one of the most exhilarating sights in cycling –
With additional races and displays planned, the afternoon will be packed with excitement, nostalgia, and a true celebration of cycling’s past and present.
