Inner Tube 36″ x 2.25″ TPU

These 36″ TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) Inner tubes are being supplied to us by a company in Switzerland.

If you are looking to reduce the rotational weight of your 36″ Unicycle wheel then a TPU Innertube could be the way to go. At over 100 grams less than the FOSS innertube and more than 250 grams less than our ‘Lightweight’ butyl tube! This will really help lighten your wheel and can help to reduce your rolling resistance.

The problem with the big wheels is that the inner tubes weigh a ton! This diminished the performance of the tyre and hence the unicycle. We can supply a correctly sized light weight tube. TPU tubes have taken the mountain bike world by storm. Not only are they light but they have some self sealing properties for thorns and other intrusions and can be thermally repaired.

The tubes are supplied with a patchkit.

Note: initial installation instructions:

• Before inflating, position the TPU tube so that the valve faces inward.
• Inflate the TPU tube only until it takes on a triangular shape (max. 0.2 – 0.3 bar).
• Install the TPU tube inside the tire, ensuring it does not become twisted.
• Proceed slowly during the initial inflation and take breaks. The material expands more slowly than butyl, so this point is very important!
• The inner tube can subsequently only be used for the same tire size (or larger).
