The UDC Muni day turn out was the quietest yet, but it did not discourage those who came out for what was one of the best rides of the year.  The route took us over a mixture of terrain from ancient roads, muddy track, forest trails, rocky tracks and over rolling hills.  We covered approximately 12 miles on what was the most amazing Autumn day.  Then a beer and food in the pub.

We are organising another Muni day, around Osmotherly and North Yorshire Moors

A day of muni riding in The North East of England. The ride should be suitable for both intermediate and advanced riders (absolute beginners may join us but may find they walk quite a bit of it).

The riding around Osmotherly is fantastic, it offers a wide range of terrain from tracks to extreme down hill. This combined with being on the northern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors the scenery is amazing.

We will meet at Swainby (DL6 3ED) at 10:30am

There is a Pub at the end of the ride.

Not suitable for unaccompanied minors.

The Penny and Farthings ride was on Saturday 15th August and went from UDC offices in Billingham to Preston park and then to the pub at Middleton One Row and back.



The ride went via the newly restored transporter bridge.



This caused some delay as the ticket machine was broken and we were delayed half an hour in the sun while they tried to fix it.



The ride went along the river Tees on the cycle path to Preston Park.



At Preston Park we picked up more riders and several safety bikes who decided to join us with the ride to the pub and back.



The Devonport hotel in Middleton One Row did us proud with a live jazz band and great food and beers.



The conclusion from the riders who came along was, good ride... when is the next one!
