Wednesday 5-7th March - Taipei Cycle Show

We arrived in Taipei ready for a few busy days af the cycle show where we look for new products and ideas. We also meet with our manufacturers and have meetings about the parts they are making for us. A lot of development happens here.



The day starts with a meeting but I cant tell you where, who with or what its for! Here is a picture to keep you guessing

Worst meal EVER in the entirety of the trip!



We had a productive few days and hopefully you will start seeing the things we have been busy developing soon.

On the last day we were killing time before our flight. Roger, Kris and I went walking around Taipei and found a few interesting things along the way.



So that concludes part 3 of my Taiwan trip!



 

 

 

We arrived in the mountains for a few days. It was beautiful. This was the view from our balcony at the hotel.



We worked on franchise reviews and had lots of productive meetings while in the mountains. We did have some time for walking and exploring the mountain too.



Unfortunately it was cloudy on the second day so we couldn't see much. The altitude made it quite hard going and we took the opportunity to stop at a Starbucks we found!



We walked up 400 steps only to find that when we reached the top we had to pay to go any higher!



Josh even found a 4 leaf clover!



That evening the chef made us a special dinner of fried rice and vegetables which wasn't on the menu. It was fantastic. We presented him with an oracle T-shirt. He was very happy!



So after a few days of walking in the mountains it was time to head down again to get ready for the Taipei International Bike Show and more meetings with the manufacturers who make our unicycle parts.



 Part 3 - Taipei Bike show to follow..

Roger and I have just got back from Taiwan where we met up with Amy and Josh from unicycle.com USA. We had lots of meetings and factory tours and we visited the Taipei International Bike Show.

Day 1 Friday 28th February

Our first stop was Jetset who make our rims. This was probably my favorite factory.  It was very interesting to see how the rims get rolled and made. Here are a few pictures from Jetset

Next we visited the factory where our wheels get built and the containers get packed. This was quite literally breathtaking to see the amount of wheels hung up on the ceiling. One man builds all our wheels, incredible!





Here is our container getting packed. It will arrive with us in the UK in April



Next we headed off for more meetings but these are top secret so you will just have to wait and see what we have coming!!

Later that evening I experienced my first Taiwanese banquet party.. It was interesting to say the least.  It was a great night! Here is Roger taking the lead on the wine consumption.

They even presented Amy Drummond with a birthday cake!
